CareerStart Progam: Curriculum Design and Assessment of Impacts

The School of Social Work (SSW), under the Statement of Work provided by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WSFCS), agrees to provide time and assistance for work on the CareerStart project that is supported by funds provided to the WS/FCS by the Kate B. Reynolds Foundation. In support of this project, the SSW agrees and shall provide services as follows:
1.1 Implement CareerStart curriculum lessons for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students and teachers;
1.2 Conduct surveys of students and teachers in fourteen (14) WS/FCS middle schools eighth grade and all high school ninth grade classrooms;
1.3 Scan and /or enter the data from the surveys into a confidential database;
1.4 Develop a longitudinal database record of students participating in the CareerStart and control schools;
1.5 Update the curriculum guides for the seventh and eighth grade implementation in the 2009-2010 school year;
1.6 Provide consultation on the implementation of CareerStart in WS/FCS middle schools; and
1.7 Provide semi-annual reports on the progress of CareerStart implementation and the findings from the longitudinal data analysis
